History and Mission
The American Institute of Wine and Food is a non-profit organization founded by the late Julia Child, Robert Mondavi, and Richard Graff in 1981 to advance the understanding, appreciation and quality of what we eat and drink. Through its programs and publications, The AIWF promotes a broad exchange of information and ideas that benefit both professionals and dedicated enthusiasts.
As an active member, you will be invited to attend chapter activities.
A Wichita chapter, founded in 1992, was the predecessor to our current organization which was organized as a not-for-profit Kansas corporation in 2015. It is one of several chapters located coast-to-coast. Educational programming relative to food, beverage and nutrition is the core of the AIWF and the vehicle for fulfilling our mission. We also have lots of FUN!
The American Institute of Wine and Food Mission:
"The American Institute of Wine & Food, Wichita Chapter, Inc. is an affiliate of a national non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the understanding, appreciation and quality of wine and food through fun educational experiences in support of its Scholarship programs."
